CY/CFS
Definition
CY/CFS (Container Yard/Container Freight Station) is a term used in the supply chain to describe the process of handling cargo shipments. CY refers to the container yard, which is a designated area where containers are stored before or after transportation. CFS refers to the container freight station, which is a facility where cargo is consolidated, deconsolidated, or temporarily stored during transportation. CY/CFS services are commonly used in intermodal transportation, allowing for efficient transfer of goods between different modes of transportation, such as ships, trucks, and trains.
